PRODUCTS - 2 Stage Boost Control Kits
By combining a few simple components, a multi-stage boost control system can be achieved. We will demonstrate a simple 2 stage system which can form the building block for a larger multi-stage system. Now you can get the dependability of a manual boost control system, with the customizing ability of and electronic boost controller. The best of both worlds.

The BoostSciences DSBC kits must first be assembled before proceeding to the installation step. Please download the following manual which describes the process. This is a VERY simple process that can be accomplished in 10-15 minutes with simple hand tools.

A multi stage system allows the driver to control the boost limit at any given time with the flick of a switch. We will show two simple set-ups that any even novice users can build and install.

2 stage boost
Setup A is by far the simplest system and yet very effective. This is achieved by connecting the boost signal line which usually comes from the intake manifold, to the inlet on the 3-way solenoid valve. The solenoid is a 12 V valve and hence can be run with power from the vehicle battery. The power to the solenoid can be controlled by a toggle switch and a 1 Amp inline fuse for safety. The toggle switch in mounted conveniently inside the cabin for easy access while driving.

There are two exit ports from the solenoid valve. One port is the exit when the solenoid is not powered (port 1)and the other is the exit port when the solenoid is powered (port 2). Port 1 is connected directly to the wastegate. Port 2 is connected to the ReliaBoost controller which in turn then connects to the wastegate. For simplicity, the two lines from the solenoid are combined using a T fitting, before connecting to the wastegate.

So how does all this work ? Well lets say you are driving along with the solenoid off. Your car is now running at the stock boost limit. Know say while driving along you need some extra power, all you have to do is flip the switch that can be mounted on the interior console and presto, the solenoid turns on and sends the boost signal through the ReliaBoost controller which in turn causes you boost limit to rise to the preset pressure of your choice. As long as the solenoid stays on the boost will stay at the 'above stock' pressure.

This system comes in handy when at raised boost levels, you car tends to spin out on launch. This also applies to situations where traction is poor such as icy conditions.

2 stage boost
Setup B allows the user to have 2 preset boost levels. By using ReliaBoost controllers on both exit lines from the solenoid, 2 independent levels of boost can be controlled in real time by the driver. This setup can be multiplied over and over again to achieve numerous preset boost limits.
